KASANAY
Education and hope for the El Palo Sector, Zulia State, Venezuela
For over 20 years, Kasanay has been providing education for children and professional training for mothers and young women in El Palo, a section of the Mara Municipality of the Zulia State in Venezuela. A large part of the population in this area belongs to the Wayú ethnic group and most people live extreme poverty conditions.
In addition to providing children education, Kasanay provides training and tools to families so they can develop productive small business and improve their living conditions. They also help them meet basic needs such as food, clothing and health care.
We need your help to:
• Provide food, medicine and clothing for 200 people in the area.
• Train some 30 community artisans (mothers, grandmothers, boys and girls) to develop their artisan skills as a trade, in an organized manner, so it can become a source of income.
• Help artisans in the area develop productive small business.
