Home / Our WorkThe American Initiatives for Social Development Foundation* believes that worlwide change begins with a single connection.
| "Over the past year, I have come to know American Initiatives' work. While still a young organization, I have found it to already be an impressive one, and not only because of its commitment to working directly with individuals and communities. By supporting local organizations and small businesses in rural areas of countries like Peru, American Initiatives promises to make a demonstrable difference in people's lives."

| "Charitable giving has always been part of who I am, but when I learned about American Initiatives for Social Development, it sparked something different in my imagination. Specifically, their role in micro-financing and its part in improving the lives of poor people who would not otherwise have access to credit. I was particularly inspired by Anna, who lives in a small village in Peru. Anna was given a very modest line of credit and as a result was able to build a business selling juice to other people in her village. Eventually, she expanded her business and was able to sell a variety of juices. What is more important, Anna established a sustainable income to provide for her family. It is this ability to transform lives, helping individuals to become self-sufficient and giving them a confidence and self-respect to be a contributing member of society that made me decide to give to American Initiatives for Social Development."
